  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Relationship challenges
  • Work-life balance struggles

Our therapists work collaboratively with you to develop personalized treatment plans to help you heal, grow, and thrive.

The length of therapy depends on your goals and the issues you wish to address. Some clients find meaningful change in a few sessions, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll work together to set goals and discuss the best plan for your needs.

Your first session is an evaluation appointment where your therapist will gather important information about your background, concerns, and goals for therapy. This session is an opportunity for you to share your story, ask any questions, and discuss your specific needs. Your therapist will document the information shared and begin to formulate a personalized treatment plan tailored to help you achieve your goals. It’s a collaborative process, setting the stage for a supportive and productive therapeutic relationship.

Yes! We offer secure online sessions (telehealth) for clients located in Arizona. Our platform is HIPAA-compliant, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.

Teletherapy offers the same level of support and care as in-person sessions, with added convenience:

  • Greater Flexibility: Schedule sessions around your busy life, whether you're at home, at work, or traveling within Arizona.
  • Comfort and Privacy: Attend sessions from a familiar, private space where you feel      most at ease.
  • Accessibility: Remove barriers like commute time, mobility challenges, or living in a      remote area.
  • Consistency: Stay connected to your therapist even if life circumstances change.

Our secure online platform ensures that sessions are private, confidential, and easy to access. Teletherapy can be a powerful, effective way to receive the support you need — on your terms.

Scheduling an appointment is easy! You can book anytime, day or night, through our Scheduling page, where you can view available times and reserve your preferred appointment. You can also call us during our phone administration hours — Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM — to schedule directly with a team member. We’re here to make getting started as simple and stress-free as possible!

Yes, many of our providers accept commercial and employer-based insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna/Evernorth, and United Healthcare. Please see the Therapists page for details on accepted insurance plans by provider.

We ask that you provide your insurance information before your initial evaluation, and again if your insurance changes at any point during treatment. We will verify your coverage details and confirm whether your provider is in-network.

Please note: We are not contracted with Medicare or Medicaid/AHCCCS plans.

Insurance Coverage & Diagnosis Requirements
I
nsurance companies will only cover therapy that is deemed medically necessary. This means your therapist must provide a formal diagnosis of a mental health condition—such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, or a similar issue—to justify treatment.

If you do not meet the criteria for a qualifying diagnosis, or if you are seeking therapy solely for personal growth (such as improving self-awareness or enhancing well-being) and prefer not to have a mental health diagnosis added to your medical record with your insurance, your insurance will not reimburse for services. In this case, you will be responsible for covering the full cost of the sessions. To help make therapy more affordable, we offer sliding scale rates for self-pay clients.

Out-of-Network Benefits & Superbills
If we are not in-network with your insurance, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits. We can provide you with a superbill—an itemized receipt with the necessary information to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. It’s important to check with your insurance provider ahead of time to understand your out-of-network coverage and reimbursement process.

As a unique 501(c)(3) nonprofit private practice, we are committed to offering high-quality care that fits a range of middle-class budgets. Our standard session rates range from $125 to $200 per hour, depending on the therapist's level of experience and whether sessions are in-person or online. Self-pay clients may be eligible for sliding scale rates based on income and household size—starting as low as $80 with an associate licensed counselor/therapist and $100 with a fully licensed counselor/therapist. For full details, please visit our Rates page.

At Achieve Counseling & Wellness, we take an integrative approach, personalizing proven, evidence-based treatment modalities to best meet your unique needs and goals, helping you heal and grow at your own pace. Each therapist may specialize in different approaches, but the most used modalities include:

  • Person-Centered Therapy: Focuses on empathy and trust, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A practical therapy that challenges negative thought patterns and helps you develop healthier coping skills.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Designed to help manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and promote emotional stability through mindfulness and coping strategies.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT): Combines CBT with mindfulness practices to help break the cycle of negative thinking and improve emotional regulation.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): A goal-oriented, future-focused therapy that builds on your strengths to create practical solutions for immediate challenges.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): A trauma-focused therapy that uses bilateral stimulation to help process and heal from past distressful or traumatic experiences, reducing emotional distress.
