Achieve Counseling & Wellness is a unique 501(c)(3) nonprofit private practice devoted to people rather than profits. Our mission is to bridge the gap in affordable counseling and therapy services for the middle class. Unlike for-profit providers, every session you attend helps advance our community-driven mission, rather than contributing to shareholder profits.
We specialize in supporting current and aspiring professionals as they pursue personal, professional, and relationship goals. Our aim is to establish ourselves as Arizona’s premier behavioral and mental health therapy provider, offering dedicated services to adults and older adolescents (ages 16 and up) to help them live their best lives.
Driven by a deep passion for helping others, our team leverages extensive education, experience, and a commitment to continuous learning to deliver high-quality, culturally respectful, and strength-based services. We embrace a holistic approach to well-being by addressing the nine interconnected dimensions of wellness: emotional, physical, intellectual, social/cultural, spiritual, creative, occupational/career, financial, and environmental. Our goal is to support you in every part of your wellness journey, helping you find balance and grow in all areas of your life.
At Achieve Counseling & Wellness, we understand that your journey is unique and deeply personal. That’s why we provide a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where you can develop a genuine, caring relationship with your therapist. Through evidence-based practices, we help you build emotional resilience, nurture self-awareness, and create lasting positive change to help you achieve your wellness goals.
Mission
We assist individuals, couples, and families in living healthier, meaningful, and fulfilling lives through counseling and wellness services to help them achieve their personal, professional, and relationship goals.
Vision
All people will have access to life enriching counseling and wellness services to help achieve their full potential, improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and improve quality of life for all.
Behavioral and mental health are vital components of overall health and well-being. People with positive behavioral and mental health have effective coping skills, strong interpersonal relationships, make healthy lifestyle choices, work to achieve goals, feel good about life, and contribute to society.
Stressful life experiences, chronic medical conditions, biological factors, and feelings of loneliness can contribute to poor behavioral and mental health (CDC, 2019). Depression, anxiety, grief, and reactions to traumatic events (including PTSD) are some of the most common and uncomfortable behavioral and mental health challenges that we can experience at some point in our lives.
Through counseling and therapy, we can help you heal emotional wounds, recover motivation, gain a more helpful perspective, develop effective coping skills, and achieve a high quality of life.
Our career is often one of the most important aspects of our adult lives. Finding your way as a professional or student can be stressful. Over time that stress may begin to affect other areas of your life.
Perhaps things are going well. You enjoy your career or education path, but you are ready to take it to the next level. Counseling and therapy can help you gain clarity on where you see yourself in the future. We often use solution-focused brief therapy to assist with setting goals, developing a plan to achieve those goals, and building skills to execute that plan successfully.
Through career counseling, we can help you achieve your professional and academic goals by clarifying career values, assessing strengths, developing a career path and plan, assisting in identifying and overcoming obstacles, and creating a healthy work-life balance.
The quality of our relationships affects both short- and long-term physical, behavioral, and mental health (Umberson & Montez, 2011). Couples and family counseling and therapy can help advance the quality of these relationships and boost overall satisfaction.
Couples and family counseling and therapy can also help when dealing with a stressful event like a financial hardship, wedding planning, death of a loved one, or a separation or divorce. In couples and family counseling and therapy, the couple or family is the "client," and the focus is on helping the couple or family improve the functioning of the relationship.
Through couples and family therapy, we can help increase understanding, promote effective communication, develop problem-solving and collaboration skills, and strengthen feelings of connectedness and security. Our supportive, non-judgmental, and unbiased approach to counseling and therapy can help enrich and maintain these essential relationships.
Evidence-Based Treatments
"It isn’t the rich that lead the way to growth and prosperity.
Instead, it is a thriving and vibrant middle class that shows us the path." (Madland, 2011)
Bridging the Gap in Mental Health Care for Arizona’s Middle Class
According to Mental Health America, Arizona ranks 50th in the nation for access to behavioral and mental healthcare (Stuart, 2015). While the state has made significant strides in serving individuals with little to no income through Medicaid—known locally as AHCCCS—many hardworking Arizonans are left behind. In 2019, an individual earning more than $16,620 annually no longer qualified for AHCCCS, leaving a wide gap for those who earn too much to qualify for public assistance but not enough to afford private care (AHCCCS, 2019). That same year, a national survey found that 28% of U.S. adults with employer-sponsored health insurance and 42% of those who purchased insurance independently were considered underinsured (Commonwealth Fund, 2019).
Arizona’s middle class, particularly those with low to mid-range incomes, faces two significant barriers to accessing mental health care: a shortage of available services and the high cost of care (Stuart, 2015). In fact, 50% of working adults with employer-sponsored insurance reported delaying doctor’s appointments, skipping prescriptions, or postponing care due to cost (Levey, 2019).
Why We Exist
Achieve Counseling & Wellness was founded in 2019 to close this critical care gap—serving the individuals, couples, and families that make up Arizona’s middle class. We believe that when people have access to quality mental health care, they live healthier, more meaningful, and more fulfilling lives. Stronger individuals and families lead to stronger, more resilient communities. When mental well-being is supported, people can thrive—personally, professionally, and socially—which in turn strengthens Arizona’s economy and helps our communities flourish.
The Role of the Middle Class in a Healthy Society
We recognize the vital role the middle class plays in the health of our society. Research has shown that a strong middle class:

To ensure our services remain accessible, we accept most major employer-sponsored and private health insurance plans. We offer competitive rates for full-pay clients and reinvest our profits to provide sliding scale therapy options for middle class individuals and families with limited income.
When you choose Achieve, you're not just prioritizing your own well-being—you’re contributing to a broader mission. Your participation helps expand access to critical mental health care for others in your community. Together, we’re building a healthier, stronger Arizona.
